iPhone Air sense funda durant 90 dies: només una marca minúscula, però no és una garantia
Després de tres mesos d’ús diari sense funda ni protector, l’iPhone Air de nivek conserva la pantalla, la part posterior i els laterals gairebé impecables. El resultat és notable, però una sola experiència no permet predir què passarà amb una caiguda desafortunada.
Comprar un telèfon especialment prim i amagar-lo dins d’una funda gruixuda pot semblar contradictori. Per comprovar fins on arriba la resistència de l’iPhone Air, el creador nivek l’ha utilitzat com a mòbil principal durant tres mesos sense funda i sense protector de pantalla.
El resultat visual és millor del que esperava: després d’entrar i sortir de butxaques de texans, compartir espai accidentalment amb claus o monedes i caure sobre fusta i rajola, només hi troba una petita osca al marc. És una experiència interessant, però no una prova de laboratori ni una garantia que un altre dispositiu sobrevisqui igual.
Per què decideix portar-lo sense protecció
La raó principal és el disseny. nivek considera l’iPhone Air el seu iPhone preferit des de l’iPhone 4 per la sensació a la mà, el pes i el gruix. Una funda elimina part d’allò que el diferencia d’un model convencional.
Apple especifica que el telèfon fa 5,64 mil·límetres de gruix i pesa 165 grams. El marc és de titani i tant la part frontal com la posterior utilitzen variants de Ceramic Shield. Són característiques que reforcen la decisió del creador de provar-lo tal com surt de la caixa.
No presenta aquesta opció com una obligació. En iPhones anteriors havia fet servir funda, i reconeix que protegir una compra cara és una decisió raonable. El vídeo, a més, incorpora un segment patrocinat per MagBak amb una funda i una cartera magnètica. La contradicció és visible, però la demostració del dispositiu després de 90 dies es pot avaluar separadament del patrocini.
Una pantalla pràcticament impecable
Quan apropa la càmera, el creador no detecta ratllades a la pantalla. Les empremtes s’hi noten molt, però desapareixen en netejar-la. El resultat el sorprèn perquè altres mòbils sense protector havien acumulat marques en una o dues setmanes.
Apple afirma que el Ceramic Shield 2 frontal ofereix tres vegades més resistència a les ratllades que la generació anterior. És una comparació del fabricant sota les seves pròpies condicions; el vídeo no la mesura quantitativament. Sí que mostra que, en aquesta unitat i amb aquest patró d’ús, les marques quotidianes no són visibles a simple vista.
Cal distingir ratllada de trencament. Un vidre pot resistir molt bé la fricció de pols o metall i, alhora, esquerdar-se si rep un impacte concentrat en un cantó. Que la pantalla hagi superat 90 dies no permet saber com respondrà a la caiguda següent.
La part posterior i els laterals
La part posterior també sembla acabada de sortir de la caixa. Apple utilitza Ceramic Shield al darrere de l’iPhone Air i anuncia quatre vegades més resistència a les esquerdes respecte al vidre posterior de models anteriors. De nou, és una dada comercial sobre resistència a trencament, no la promesa que el material sigui impossible de danyar.
Els laterals de titani es conserven gairebé perfectes. nivek examina cantonades i rails sense trobar cops evidents. Només quan desmunta la càmera del trípode i s’hi acosta molt identifica una osca diminuta en una cantonada superior. No desapareix en fregar-la, de manera que la considera dany real.
La marca és tan petita que probablement passa desapercebuda en l’ús normal. Tot i això, és important perquè evita una conclusió absoluta: el telèfon no és invulnerable. La superfície ha resistit molt bé, però ja acumula el primer senyal permanent.
Què demostra realment aquesta prova
El vídeo documenta un cas d’ús prolongat, més representatiu que un desempaquetatge i complementari a les proves destructives. El telèfon ha estat el dispositiu principal del creador, ha passat moltes vegades per butxaques ajustades i ha sofert algunes caigudes domèstiques.
No obstant això, hi falten variables per generalitzar:
- només s’observa una unitat;
- no es compten ni mesuren les caigudes;
- el tipus de terra, l’altura i l’angle d’impacte canvien molt el resultat;
- la pols de sorra o altres partícules pot ratllar més que unes claus;
- no es compara simultàniament amb un altre iPhone sota el mateix tracte;
- no s’avalua el possible dany intern.
Dir que els mòbils han arribat a la «durabilitat màxima», com suggereix nivek, va més enllà del que permet l’experiment. El que sí mostra és que un dispositiu modern pot mantenir un aspecte excel·lent sense protecció quan l’usuari és relativament curós i té una mica de fortuna amb els impactes.
Funda, protector o telèfon nu
La decisió depèn menys de la resistència mitjana que de la conseqüència d’un accident. Una persona amb assegurança, capacitat d’assumir una reparació i preferència clara pel disseny pot acceptar el risc. Qui treballa en exteriors, té nens petits, deixa sovint el telèfon sobre superfícies dures o necessita conservar-ne el valor de revenda probablement obtindrà més benefici d’una funda.
Hi ha opcions intermèdies: una funda molt fina, protecció només en activitats de risc o un protector de pantalla que sacrifica menys la sensació del dispositiu. També convé evitar posar-lo a la butxaca amb sorra, perquè alguns minerals poden ser més agressius que les claus.
Després de 90 dies, l’iPhone Air de nivek ofereix una dada tranquil·litzadora: el vidre i el titani poden tolerar bé l’ús diari. La lliçó prudent no és que la protecció ja sigui inútil, sinó que portar-lo sense funda ha deixat de ser necessàriament una imprudència si s’entén i s’accepta el cost del risc.

This to me is living proof that we've reached peak durability for smartphones. If you're not crazy clumsy, as you've seen there is damage on it.
