Nou impressions 3D populars per a casa: quines són útils i quines malgasten plàstic

Joe Cirillo imprimeix i prova nou dels models domèstics més descarregats de MakerWorld: una cadira portàtil, un braç per a tauleta, un moll MagSafe, un espremedor de pasta de dents, ganxos, una rentadora de fruita i una pinça. Els resultats demostren que el nombre de descàrregues no prediu la utilitat.

Una impressora 3D pot fabricar una peça exactament quan fa falta. També pot passar 35 hores convertint 1,3 quilos de filament en una cadira que ningú no traurà mai de casa.

Joe Cirillo prova nou dels models de llar més descarregats de MakerWorld per respondre una pregunta molt pràctica: la popularitat d’un fitxer indica que val la pena imprimir-lo?

La resposta és no. Alguns objectes senzills resulten excel·lents i alguns dissenys espectaculars deceben. En total, les nou peces necessiten unes 82 hores d’impressió. El vídeo avalua el temps, el material, el muntatge, la resistència, la comoditat i si ja existeix una alternativa comercial millor.

1. Cadira portàtil amb forma de maleta: 9/10

La primera peça és una cadira desmuntable que, un cop plegada, es converteix en una petita maleta. Les potes i els connectors queden guardats dins del seient.

Les xifres són les més exigents de tota la prova:

  • 35 hores d’impressió;
  • 1,3 kg de filament;
  • unes 9.600 descàrregues;
  • resistència anunciada de fins a 206 lliures, uns 93 kg.

Cirillo pesa aproximadament 76 kg i s’hi asseu sense notar inestabilitat. L’alçada és adequada per a una persona d’1,75 metres, el muntatge és intuïtiu i desmuntar-la torna a ser ràpid.

La puntuació de 9 sobre 10 premia un disseny que compleix el que promet. L’objecció és econòmica i logística: 35 hores immobilitzen la impressora i el cost d’1,3 kg de material pot acostar-se al d’un tamboret plegable comercial. Té més sentit com a projecte personal o quan es vol adaptar la mida que no pas com a manera universal d’estalviar.

2. Braç mecànic per a mòbil o tauleta: 3/10

El suport articulat permet col·locar una pantalla a diferents alçades i angles. La idea encaixa bé a la cuina per seguir una recepta o en un escriptori per mantenir la tauleta elevada.

Imprimir-lo requereix:

  • 14 hores;
  • 375 grams de filament;
  • diversos cargols i comandaments;
  • un muntatge laboriós.

És aquí on el model falla. Els cargols entren amb dificultat, les articulacions continuen flexionant fins i tot quan els comandaments estan molt estrets i el suport només accepta el telèfon en vertical.

Un mecanisme articulat depèn de toleràncies, fricció i rigidesa. Una petita variació de calibratge, material o orientació de capa pot transformar una unió estable en una peça que cedeix. La puntuació de 3 no significa que el fitxer sigui inútil, sinó que necessita massa feina per oferir menys confiança que un braç comercial de metall.

3. Garatge per penjar les claus: 9/10

El tercer model és un petit garatge de paret. Quan s’hi penja el clauer, la porta s’obre o es tanca amb un mecanisme simple i satisfactori.

La peça consumeix uns 128 grams i triga 4,2 hores. Acumulava unes 32.800 descàrregues.

Cirillo no tenia un cotxe de Hot Wheels per completar l’efecte visual i improvisa un substitut, però el mecanisme funciona igualment. És decoratiu i funcional alhora, no necessita gaire material i converteix el gest quotidià de guardar les claus en una petita animació.

Rep un 9 sobre 10. És un bon exemple del terreny on la impressió 3D destaca: una peça específica, personalitzable i difícil de trobar exactament igual en una botiga.

4. Moll MagSafe per a iPhone i Apple Watch: 10/10

El moll d’iPhone és un dels dissenys més elaborats. La versió utilitzada està ampliada per admetre un iPhone 17 Pro amb funda i incorpora espais per a:

  • el disc de càrrega MagSafe;
  • el carregador d’Apple Watch;
  • els AirPods a la part superior;
  • una palanca que expulsa el telèfon.

Va necessitar 5,6 hores i 229 grams de filament. El fitxer concret tenia unes 63.300 descàrregues, tot i que hi ha moltes adaptacions del disseny original.

En posar-hi l’iPhone, la pantalla entra en el mode d’espera horitzontal i es converteix en rellotge o visor d’informació. La palanca inferior separa el telèfon de l’imant amb un gest mecànic.

La modificació ampliada no subjectava prou bé el disc MagSafe i el creador va haver d’afegir cinta adhesiva de doble cara. També calen dos cables si es vol carregar alhora telèfon i rellotge. Malgrat aquests detalls, el disseny, l’aspecte i la funció reben un 10.

Abans d’imprimir-ne una variant convé comprovar model, funda, diàmetre del carregador i toleràncies. Un canvi de pocs mil·límetres pot ser la diferència entre encaix a pressió i disc solt.

5. Espremedor de tub amb carraca: 9/10

L’espremedor de pasta de dents és petit, ràpid i sorprenentment satisfactori. Utilitza un eix, un comandament i una carraca que enrotlla el tub mentre n’expulsa el contingut.

Les dades expliquen part de l’èxit:

  • 1,4 hores d’impressió;
  • 22 grams de filament;
  • unes 64.300 descàrregues.

El muntatge no és evident a la primera, però un cop ordenades les peces funciona bé i manté el tub enrotllat sense que retrocedeixi. Cirillo li dona un 9.

És probablement un dels projectes amb millor relació entre material i utilitat. No pretén substituir un aparell complex, resol un problema senzill i pot adaptar-se al gruix de diferents tubs.

6. Ganxo de tovallola per gravetat: 7/10

Aquest penjador utilitza una bola interior. En empènyer-hi una tovallola, la gravetat i la fricció la bloquegen; en estirar-la, la bola l’hauria d’alliberar.

Només necessita una hora i 22 grams de filament, i sumava unes 67.400 descàrregues. El disseny provat té una superfície estriada.

La tovallola queda ben subjecta, però costa més retirar-la del que seria ideal. El muntatge provisional del vídeo tampoc ajuda a valorar-ne la sensació final. Rep un 7: fa la feina i és bonic, però no millora de manera clara un ganxo convencional.

La duresa del filament, el pes de la bola i el tipus de teixit poden canviar molt el comportament. Una tovallola fina i una de ris gruixut no ofereixen la mateixa fricció.

7. HydroBowl per rentar fruita: 5/10

El HydroBowl és una de les peces més vistoses. L’aigua entra lateralment i crea un remolí que fa girar fruites i verdures; quan arriba a un cert nivell, el líquid surt pel desguàs.

La impressió exigeix 15,4 hores i 468 grams. Tenia unes 69.600 descàrregues.

Amb nabius, l’efecte funciona millor del que el creador esperava. La fruita gira, l’aigua s’evacua i no cal subjectar un colador sota l’aixeta. El problema és si una peça impresa a casa és adequada per a contacte repetit amb aliments.

Que un filament s’anunciï com a PLA o PETG no converteix automàticament l’objecte final en un utensili alimentari certificat. També importen els colorants, la contaminació del broquet, els additius, les esquerdes entre capes, la neteja i la possible migració de substàncies.

La normativa europea exigeix que els materials destinats a tocar aliments no transfereixin components en quantitats perjudicials i que es fabriquin sota bones pràctiques. Una capa o segellador tampoc és una garantia si el producte no està certificat per a l’ús, temperatura i rentats previstos.

Cirillo li dona un 5: enginyós i funcional, però llarg d’imprimir i substituïble per un bol o colador barat i fàcil de rentar.

8. Suport amb drenatge per a Scrub Daddy: 10/10

El suport d’esponja aprofita la cara del Scrub Daddy. L’esponja queda encaixada com si el suport fos un petit cos, i els forats inferiors permeten evacuar l’aigua.

Triga 2,6 hores, utilitza 59 grams i acumulava unes 84.700 descàrregues.

No és una peça tècnicament extraordinària, però combina humor, ordre i drenatge. El resultat fa exactament el que promet i Cirillo li dona un 10.

La puntuació mostra que utilitat no sempre vol dir complexitat. Una forma senzilla pot resultar més valuosa que un mecanisme amb moltes articulacions si s’utilitza cada dia i no crea feina addicional.

9. Minipinça per tancar bosses: 7/10

El model més descarregat de la categoria és també el més petit:

  • 14 minuts d’impressió;
  • 4 grams de filament;
  • més de 100.000 descàrregues.

La pinça tanca bé bosses petites i fins i tot un paquet de pa. No necessita molla, cargols ni muntatge.

Cirillo la compara amb diferents pinces comercials i li dona un 7. Funciona perfectament, però un paquet de trenta pinces amb molla costa aproximadament set dòlars. Imprimir-ne moltes no sempre estalvia diners si es compten electricitat, temps, desgast i la possibilitat que el PLA perdi força amb la calor.

El seu gran avantatge és un altre: es pot fabricar una unitat immediatament, ajustar-ne la mida o aprofitar un petit romanent de filament.

Classificació final

Les puntuacions del vídeo queden així:

No és una comparació científica. Les peces provenen de materials i perfils diferents, i una sola impressió no representa totes les impressores. És, però, una prova d’ús molt més informativa que el recompte de descàrregues.

Com decidir si val la pena imprimir

Abans de prémer «imprimeix», el vídeo suggereix una llista implícita de preguntes:

  • Quantes hores i quants grams necessita?
  • Ja existeix una alternativa barata i més resistent?
  • Es pot reparar o només tornar a imprimir?
  • Tindrà contacte amb aliments, calor, humitat o pes?
  • Les capes suportaran la direcció de l’esforç?
  • Cal comprar cargols, imants o carregadors?
  • El fitxer correspon exactament al dispositiu?
  • L’utilitzaré més d’una vegada?

També convé revisar comentaris, fotografies d’altres usuaris i el perfil d’impressió. El nombre de descàrregues mesura curiositat i visibilitat; no mesura durabilitat ni ús continuat.

Conclusions

La impressió 3D és més valuosa quan crea la peça exacta que falta, no quan fabrica objectes pel simple fet que pot fer-ho. El moll MagSafe, l’espremedor i el garatge de claus aprofiten aquesta especificitat. El braç mecànic intenta competir amb metall i articulacions comercials i en surt perjudicat.

Després de 82 hores, Cirillo afirma que ja usa algunes peces i n’ha oblidat d’altres. L’ordre de popularitat no va predir quines.

La millor regla no és imprimir el model amb més cors o descàrregues. És calcular material, temps, seguretat i probabilitat d’ús abans de convertir un fitxer gratuït en plàstic permanent.

    3D printers might be the most powerful tool you can have in your home. But the thing about a tool that can make pretty much anything is it can also make. A whole lot of nothing. I don't know how many more 3D printed dragons I need to see at a farmers market before I absolutely lose my mind. So today I tracked down the most popular home 3D prints of all time and we are putting them to the test. Are they actually useful or are they just a waste of plastic? We're counting down from the least popular all the way to the print that's been downloaded more than any other home 3D print on Maker World. And it all starts with this. Guys, if you ever found yourself in a place with no chairs and thoughts yourself man I could really use a chair. Well, then I have great news for you. This is the compact portable chair with suitcase functionality. Everything to build the chair stores nicely inside the suitcase. It took about 35 hours to print and used 1.3 kilograms of filament. And it's been downloaded 9,600 times. Now, assembly. This seems straightforward enough. You just take the legs out. These ends pop onto the bottom like this. What was this up? And then these just slot into these holes on the bottom of the stool. Okay, that should be it. Okay, so not a test this out. I mean, yeah, I think this works totally fine. Veal sturdy. I thought I was gonna be short, but it's actually a totally fine height. I'm also five nine for the record, but still. Okay, next up the weight test. This was apparently tested for up to 206 pounds. I weigh around 168 right now. And yeah, totally fine. And then finally, let's see how easy it is to tear back down. That was

    So easy. Okay, honestly we're starting out really strong. This is compact and works like it's supposed to and I actually think the design is really great So I'm gonna give this a nine out of 10 next print picture this you're about to cook dinner You have the recipe up on your tablet, but then you realize Uh-oh I have nowhere to put my tablet. That's where this comes in. This is a mechanical arm holder stand for tablet slash phone 14 hours supreme 375 grams of filament used 22,000 downloads. I'm not gonna lie to you guys assembling this thing Absolutely sucked. I don't know if I did something wrong, but the screws just didn't go in that smoothly for like half the holes. And once it's all together, tightening and untightening the knobs doesn't really inspire a lot of confidence. Once you get it set up, I will say it does work. It's tough to get these knobs tight though. I don't know why. Like I'm cranking on that. And I can still pretty much flex it, even fully tight.

    It does give you the option to swivel in pretty much all directions. Another thing to note, it can't fit. Phones horizontal. It can only do vertical. Okay, I don't know, man. Maybe I'm being a little harsh. I do like the design and it's really cool, but in terms of the scale, I feel like I'm gonna flip this at. A 3. Next print. This next one is a car garage key holder with opening door. This took just 4.2 hours to print used about 128 grams of filament and it has 32,800 downloads. This one is actually going to get mounted right here. Now I actually really like this one. I think the design is a ton of fun to use. It's super satisfying. The print really didn't take that long. The only issue is I don't actually have any hot wheels here at the studio. So I had to improvise a little bit. I'm going to give this one a 9 out of 10. Next print. Okay, this next one might look familiar to a lot of people. This is the iPhone stand by dock designed by Scott U1 and Overwork. The one I print in has been modified to fit an iPhone 17 Pro with the case on. It took 5.6 hours to print, used roughly 229 grams of filament, and it's been downloaded about 63,300 times and honestly probably way more than that given how many variations of this there are online. So if you're unfamiliar with this one, it is so cool. Basically, you need a MagSafe puck here, and this is optional, but you can also use an Apple Watch charger paired with that to charge your AirPods on top. This little guy is the ejector handle, so it slides right on top here.

    And when you put your phone in, you can push down on that to eject it. I did have to use double sided tape to keep the puck in, because otherwise the magnetic force from my phone's magsafe would pull it out. But honestly, I think that's an issue with the upscale designs, not scots original one. And as the name suggests, once you have this puck plugged in, you can just toss your phone on there and it will put your phone in standby mode. Really cool. This looks great on something like a bedside table, for example. If I had the dock points at all, it's just for the fact that you have to use these two separate cables in order to get full charging functionality. This thing is just so cool. The functionality is great. The design looks fantastic. I am personally giving this one a 10 and a 10. I think it's 100% worth of the filament. Good job Scott and overwork. Next print.     to the knob, shaft into the knob. Slide the ratchet flat side down onto the shaft as little part goes down and insert shaft into the body. Okay, it's working. Okay, so I think the way this works is the toothpaste goes into this little slot and then you just ratchet it. This is crazy. Okay, I think we're pretty much at max here. It fits the toothpaste perfectly. I did super satisfying to use. You can see when I twisted it like starts to push the toothpaste out, which I'm not gonna do, but I would say that works pretty dang well. Actually very cool. Okay, this one was super satisfying to use. It reduces waste on the toothpaste and outside of being slightly confusing to assemble. I think it's pretty cool. So I'm gonna give it a 9 out of 10. Good job. Onto the next one. Okay, I know a may not look like it at the moment, but I do try to keep this place relatively clean. And part of that is constantly keeping the tech wipe down with this microfiber cloth. But, ah.

    I have no good place to store it. Well that is about to change. Introducing the auto locking hanger gravity towel hook ribbed edition. This took about one hour to print used 22 grams of filament and has 67,400 downloads. I think my plan is to put it like maybe right around here by the 3D printer. It is a wall mount, so... Okay, I'm out to this terribly, but theoretically this ball should hold the towel when we slide it up into it. There ya go. Wow. That was a taking it out. So I think it looks great for some reason it does hold the towel well. Removing the towel is a little harder, but I like it. I don't know if I'm supposed to be pulling the towel off or what. I also should have version mounted this more securely, but. But honestly, this does what it says it was gonna do. I think the design is actually really pretty. I'm gonna give this a 7 out of 10. I could see myself using this now that it's here. Next print question, have you ever been cleaning your fruit in the morning and daughter yourself? One, this is taking way too much time, and two, I wish I had just a little bit of micro plastic in my fruit. Then boy do I have the product for you. I think given the amount of time it took to print mixed with the fact that you would probably have to put some sort of food safe coating on this for me to really feel confident using it and paired with the fact that you can buy one of these for not that much money.

I just don't know if I want to be rinsing my food off with a 3D printed object, but you guys can let me know if I'm overreacting. We are on to the next one and we're staying here at the sink. Guys, let's face it. Most sponge holders are boring and if you're a scrubbed out of user like we are, you might be thinking to yourself there's gotta be a better way to display this. Alright, Final verdict on the scrubbed out of you holder with drainage. This is probably gonna come as no surprise. I am giving this one a 10 out of 10. It's just so good. It's 100% worth the hype. Okay. Onto the final one. And in true home print fashion, we are staying in the kitchen for the final category. Guys, I have fantastic news for you. If you've ever thought to yourself.

    Maybe size actually does matter. I'm here to tell you that it doesn't because the number one most printed item in the home category is a mini bag clip. Yes, this little guy right here was the most popular home 3D print coming in at over 100,000 downloads this took 14 minutes to print with just four grams of filament used and of course it wouldn't be a true test without bringing others to the table. Why go out and pay for clips when you could just print your own? That's the question we're solving today. Classic clip works totally fine. Wide clip. Great, traditional clip. Perfect and finally the mini clip. Beautiful. Absolutely zero issues with this. Works perfectly. Could even use it to see something like bread for example. I want to head and look up what this would cost. The spring loaded ones are around $7 for a pack of 30. Based on that for the final and most printed object, I'm going to go ahead and give it a 7 out of 10. They're incredibly useful and they're super easy to make, but I can't quite put them at the top of the daily driver category just because there are some better options out there for not that much money. And there you have it. The most downloaded home print. Most of these are really going to change your life.

    Some of them might. A big takeaway for me for this video is that download count shouldn't really be your metric for determining what to print. I totally loved the print time for these 9 objects. It was around 82 hours. Some of which I'm using regularly now and others I've already forgotten about. The ranking on Maker World had nothing to do with that. Filming costs money, plastic waste is a real thing. I encourage you to think about this. The next time you're deciding whether or not you want to print that dragon.
